Well, I have finally done it and moved myself full steam into the realm of Social Networking and blogging.
How can I educate my teachers on this realm of online communication if i cannot say I have taken the leap myself.
I have followed in the footsteps of my new mentor Chris Betcher (shoosh, i don’t think he knows yet) and installed Flock onto my Mac this weekend. If you haven’t tried it yet, you really need to give it a go. It brings together all the social networking tools into the one browser interface while still providing a fully featured web browser to boot.
With Flock installed I have now set up my Twitter, Gmail, Flickr, Facebook and my many favored RSS feeds all into the application and with that done, will now try to engage as many of these as I can on a weekly basis. I have also set up my wondrous iPhone (couldn’t live without this gadget) to allow me to post live images to Flickr and to update my Twitter when out and about.
So, without further ado, let the social experiment begin!

I’ll watch this site.
Hey Julian,
Great blog, very impressed, but I was sorry to read that you have made Chris Betcher your mentor; that charlatan seems only out to increase his fame. You are worth a thousand of blokes like him. You actually do useful stuff and are a moodle expert. He just seems to tweet about on his web 2.0 soapbox and make an obnoxious d!ckhe@d out of himself with his lame-arse opinions. You can do better mate….he should be looking to you to mentor him!
